KC Metro Employment by Month

Employment Chart
Source: Bureau of Labor Statistics

Employment bounced back strong from May's decline to 996,096. Despite this sharp increase in employment, the unemployment rate also increased due to a large increase in the Labor Force.
NOTE: The Bureau of Labor Statistics revised much of the historic data this past month. Most revisions were slight, but the numbers may not match earlier figures that we posted.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics does not provide seasonally adjusted data for metro areas, so the monthly data will usually show sharp spikes in employment in the summer months and around the holidays.
